7 STRESS RELIEVERS

Life can sometimes get the best of us & that's okay, IT'S NORMAL! Let's look at 10 of my top tips for relaxation. Next time you find yourself stressed or anxious, try utilizing any one or combination of these tips. Don't forget to let me know how they work out for you!

As a mom of two little ones, a wife, and business owner there are times when I feel like life is totally getting the best of me. It's an overwhelming feeling that takes over, my stomach fills with butterflies while I can't seem to get my thoughts from racing through my mind. That's when I know I have to stop and be where my feet are.

“Take a deep breath. Inhale peace. Exhale happiness.”

It's always easier said than done, but sometimes we just need to take a deep breath and enjoy life. We're going to face tough times, no matter what. So why not just enjoy the ride and practice relaxation through the hard moments?

7 Relaxation tips

1. Breath it out

Learning to control your breathing during times of frustration and anxiousness is a key to relaxation. Find a quiet space where you can sit or lay and focus on your breathing while letting your thoughts flow through your mind like the river current. Place your hand on your stomach and take deep breaths, focusing on your stomach rising and falling.

2. write it down

Write down your thoughts, feelings, emotions! Run, don't walk to the store and go get a notebook/journal. This helps to keep them all in one place and a great way to see how far you've come and all the obstacles you've faced over time. Don't think too hard about it, just let the pen flow on the pages.

3. Get creative

Draw, paint, craft, write a song, play an instrument, something that will help get your mind off daily life stressors. Remember how much fun it was as a kid to make up dance routines with your friends/siblings/cousins? Who says we can't think of fun creative things to do get us out of a funk and release some stress? Make a shirt, birthday card, or cupcakes. Something that requires your full attention.

4. LISTEN TO MUSIC

Right now, while I have you curious about stress relievers, I want you to make a playlist of songs that always put you in a good mood! The songs that motivate you. The ones that make you feel pretty, or like the flyest man in the room. The ones that put a smile on your face. When you get in a bad mood, or feeling stressed, play this playlist and let it out. I'm talking about singing it from the top of your lungs. Dance with it. Heck, clean with it playing if you want to. Let out some frustration, let out some sadness, some anxiousness, whatever it may be let it all out.

5. SEEK OUT YOUR SUPPORT SYSTEM

So many of us hate to reach out to others, with a fear of judgement or maybe just not wanting to pass on bad energy to our loved ones. But where would we be today without them and their support? Call your best friend, your favorite cousin, your grandma! Whoever gives you the best advice and most of all LISTENS! They'd rather help you through it than watch you suffer alone, trust me.

6. GO OUTSIDE

Get out the house, get out the office, catch some sun rays or listen to the rain drop. Getting fresh air and sun can really help the mind calm down. Sunlight helps to boost a chemical in our brain called serotonin, this gives you more energy and helps keep you calm, positive and focus.

7. VISUALIZE

Who said day dreaming was a bad thing? It's so calming and motivating. Whether you're visualizing yourself on the beach, or being the boss you aspire to be, it can all be used as a stress reliever and motivator. This of smells, tastes, be as detailed as possible.
